Panopto Configuration Instructions (LTI 1.3) in eClass
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for integrating Panopto with eClass as an LTI 1.3 tool, enabling Panopto to open embedded (within an iframe) inside the course. Note regarding values: The URLs and IDs shown below and in the images are indicative. The exact values for each installation are obtained by copying and pasting directly from the live eClass and Panopto forms, as highlighted in each step.
Preparation The administrator (admin) of both eClass and Panopto opens two tabs in the browser:
- Tab 1 — Panopto: https://test.cloud.panopto.eu/
- Tab 2 — eClass
In Panopto (Tab 1): Navigate to the gear icon System → Identity Providers → Add Provider and open the creation form for a new BLTI instance.
In eClass (Tab 2): Navigate to Platform Administration → External Tools → Panopto and open the tool addition form.
Step 1 — Creating the LTI tool in eClassIn the eClass form, fill in the following values:
Notes:
- The Public keyset value and the Initiate login URL value are provided ready for copy/paste from the Panopto form (Tab 1). The Initiate login URL contains a unique identifier that changes for every different BLTI instance you create.
- In the LTI Provider Redirection URI field, enter both of the following addresses (one per line in the textarea):
https://test.cloud.panopto.eu/Panopto/LTI/LTI.aspx
https://test.cloud.panopto.eu/Panopto/BasicLTI/BasicLTILanding.aspx
Entering both values is mandatory: if only LTI.aspx is declared, Panopto displays a 500 error inside the iframe. Click Submit. Submitting will return you to the list of Panopto tools. Indicative image of the eClass form:
Step 2 — Opening the read-only values screen.From the list of Panopto tools, click the gear icon of the tool you just created and select Display. This takes you to a read-only screen. Leave it open in Tab 2 so you can easily copy and paste the values into the Panopto form.
Step 3 — Registering the Identity Provider in Panopto
In the Panopto form (Tab 1), fill in the following values:
LTI 1.3 Values — copy them from the eClass read-only screen (Tab 2):

Completion.The configuration is complete. The Panopto link has been placed in the left-hand menu of the course in eClass; by clicking it, Panopto opens embedded within the iframe.
