Open eClass offers various types of exercise questions based on the “drag and drop” functionality, which are ideal for interactive learning. The most common types are:

• Drag and drop into text: In this type, students drag words or phrases into blank spaces within a text. It is a great way to practice vocabulary or concept comprehension.

• Drag and drop onto image: Students drag and drop words onto specific areas of an image (markers). You can use this to have them label parts of a map, a body, or a diagram.

To create a new Drag and drop into text question, select the “New question” link within an exercise.New questionDefine the question and its type, which in this case is “Drag and drop into text”, and then select the “Create” link.

Select “Drag and drop into text” typeNext, in the “Description/Question” field, you need to enter the text that will be displayed to the students. In this text, you must pay attention to the blank spots where the student will drag the correct answers. To define a blank space, you must use single square brackets [ ] with a number inside, without any spaces.For example: The Acropolis of Athens is a hill located in the center of the [1] city. There, the [2] was built in honor of the goddess Athena.The answers will be in the form of: [1]= Ancient and [2]= Parthenon.

Following this, you need to specify the words or phrases that the learner will be able to drag into the blanks. You should also assign a grade/score to each word or phrase. The process is completed by selecting the “Submit” link. Finally, the image below shows the final form of this specific question type as it “appears” to the students.
