Flipped Classroom

The flipped classroom model is an educational strategy and a type of blended learning. It aims to increase the productivity and learning of students by having them complete the study of the course material at home and work on live problem-solving during class time. This pedagogical style shifts activities, including those that might traditionally have been considered homework, into the classroom. In a flipped classroom, students watch online lectures, collaborate in online discussions, or conduct research at home, while actively engaging with the concepts in class, under the guidance of a mentor. This way, students are given the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject matter (having acquired prior knowledge through studying at home), always with the guidance of the course instructor/mentor.

To create a Course with the Flipped Classroom model enabled, we first select the “Create Course” link. Subsequently, we fill in the remaining fields (Category, Instructors, Short description, Course format in sections) and activate the “Flipped Classroom Model” by pressing the “Active” button. It should be emphasized here that the “Course in sections” format must be selected for the course's format for the activation of the “Flipped Classroom” model to be meaningful. Next, we fill in the course's access type (Open, Open with registration, Closed) and select the “Submit” link to complete the process.
