Exercises
“The 'Exercises” subsystem provides the student with the ability to participate in Self-Assessment exercises within the context of the course. On the home page of the exercises, all the exercises in which you have the right to participate are presented.“
The main purpose of the exercises is to train the students in the subject matter. Some exercises require particular attention because there may be time constraints or limitations on the number of allowed repetitions. In time constraints, we need to pay attention to both the starting and ending date of an exercise and the limitation on the duration of the exercise (eg 20 minutes). The types of questions that can be presented in an exercise are:
- Multiple choice (with a single answer)
- Multiple choice (with multiple answers)
- Fill the Blanks
- Matching
- True/False
- Free text
To complete a self-assessment exercise, simply click on the link with the name of the specific exercise. The questions will automatically appear, belonging to one of the aforementioned categories (Multiple choice, Fill in the blanks, True/False). For multiple-choice questions (single answer, multiple answers), select the answer(s) you consider correct based on the corresponding checkbox, depending on the question type. Here, there is the possibility to clear the answers you have given (before the final submission) for this specific type of exercise by clicking the “Clear” button on the right side of the screen.”
“In the 'True/False' question type, you simply need to select the correct answer. And here too, you have the option to clear your answer using the corresponding button.”
“For the 'fill in the blanks' question category, type the answer you consider correct in the blank space of the exercise.”
Finally, for 'Matching' questions, select the corresponding columns from the drop-down lists.“
“After completing all the questions in the specific exercise, select the 'Final Submission' link to submit the exercise definitively. Once the process is complete, the platform informs you that you have successfully completed the specific exercise, and at the same time, it displays (if the instructor has enabled it) your performance on each question. At the top of the page, the overall score you achieved in this specific exercise is also displayed.”
Returning to the main exercises page, you will now notice that the 'Show' link appears for that specific exercise. Clicking on this link will display more information about the exercise you completed, such as the duration of completion, the overall score, and the current status of the exercise.”
“In addition to time constraints, the instructor may have also selected the 'Lock' option for a specific exercise. Thus, with the code provided to you by the course instructor, you can gain access to the exercise. Simply enter your code in the corresponding field to 'Unlock' the exercise in order to complete it.”
