LTI 1.3
1. Go in as the LMS admin and click Admin Tool.
2. Then click external tools in the Admin Tool column.
3. Find Turnitin in the External Tool list and click on the Turnitin icon.
4. Click the gear sign to edit.
5. Note the LTI 1.1 Provider Key (the Turnitin account id). Under LTI version, choose LTI 1.3.
6. In a new tab in your browser, go to home.turnitin.com
7. Locate your open eclass LTI 1.1 integration using the account id then click on the account name. Choose integrations from the left hand menu.
8. Click LTI 1.3.
9. Click get started.
10. Choose Other from the dropdown.
11. Name the registration.
12. Copy the following fields from home.turnitin.com into your open eclass tab.
- Copy the Tool Public Key set URL field from home.turnitin.com and paste it into the LTI Provider Public keyset field in open eclass.
- Copy the Login Initiation URL field from home.turnitin.com and paste it into the LTI Provider initiate login URL field in open eclass.
- Copy the Launch URL/Tool Redirect URL field from home.turnitin.com and paste it into the LTI Provider Redirection URI field in open eclass.
- Do not worry about the Target Link URI field.
- Be sure the Status is Active and you have allowed it for all courses.
- When you are done, click submit.
13. Click on the gear sign, then click display.
14. Copy the following fields from open eclass in into your open home.turnitin tab.
- Copy the Client ID from open eclass and paste it into the Client ID field in home.turnitin.com.
- Copy the Platform ID from open eclass and paste it into the Issuer field in home.turnitin.com.
- Copy the Public Keyset URL from open eclass and paste it into the Platform Public keysetURL field in home.turnitin.com.
- Copy the Access token URL from open eclass and paste it into the Access token field in home.turnitin.com.
- Copy the Authentication request URL from open eclass and paste it into the OPenID connect login endpoint field in home.turnitin.com.
- Then click Save and Close.
15. Next, you need to create the deployment to link the Turnitin account to your open eclass environment. To do this, go into a course and create a new assignment. Under Assignment Type, choose Turnitin. Then click Select Content.
16. You will be presented with the following popup. The Turnitin admin will log in as if they are logging in to home.turnitin.com.
17. A login code will be sent to the Turnitin admin’s email. Enter this code into the fields. Then click Submit.
18. Click create new.
19. Locate your turnitin account linked to your open eclass environment. Click on the radio button then click next.
20. Name the deployment. Then click next.
21. Click confirm.
22. You will get a success indication.
You can continue creating the assignment or exit. This is a one time deployment. Your instructors will not have to do this.
